than he is with disobedient laziness and arrogant self-dependence, even if the outcome is [by the world’s standards] ideal.

Consider Jonah, who—despite his cowardice and lack of love for the citizens of Ninevah—was used to bring the whole city to repentance

and Jeremiah, who—despite being beaten and rejected for his ministry—faithfully preached and desperately desired to see Israel return to their God;

I would like to be like Jeremiah.
